Malii [May-Lee] Watts Witten (she/her) holds 20 years’ experience facilitating strategic processes that connect people. She is an impact entrepreneur who facilitates and consults globally and stateside to equip people with skills to manage complexities and opportunities inherent to culturally diverse environments. Malii trains leadership, executives and high potentials—both face-to-face and virtually—to cooperate effectively in the U.S. and/or across national cultures. Her client list includes Fortune 500 companies, institutions of higher learning, state and municipal government and nonprofit organizations.
Malii offers a unique perspective to the work as a Millennial woman of color who has worked and travelled throughout the U.S. and 20 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas. She has varying proficiency in Spanish, Japanese and American Sign Language (ASL). Living at times beyond her “comfort zone”—both outside of, and within, her native U.S. borders—has presented Malii with professional and personal experiences that enable her to relate to, and resonate with, client-partners through cultural self-reflection and discovery. Malii has managed training and consulting projects within the industries of Human Resources, Information Technology, Engineering, Automotive Manufacturing, Theology, Agriculture, Pharmaceuticals and Higher Education based in and/or with a |
focus on Canada, China, England, Finland, Germany, India, Mexico, Philippines, Poland, Russia and the United States. The culture-general theories of well-established researchers within ethnographic fields serve as the foundation of her content knowledge.
Publications include For the Love of Music: A Story of Organizational Culture and Change; quarterly communications sent as Editor of intercultures’ e-newsletter; and posts via #BlahBlahBlog. One of Malii’s strongest attributes is her ability to connect with others. She is an effective and dynamic communicator who works with a people-centered ethic. Malii Watts Witten earned a Master of Arts degree in Intercultural Management from SIT Graduate Institute (School for International Training) in Vermont, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Diplomacy and World Affairs from Occidental College in California. She is a licensed consultant of the Virtual Performance Assessment® instrument; has been certified as an Administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory®; and is a friend of SIETAR (Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research). Malii currently lives in San Antonio, Texas, and travels nationally, internationally and virtually for work and pleasure. |
